Busy Weekend!

Saturday was our french market http://www.3frenchhensmarket.blogspot.com/! I got up at 3:15am to head to the market for set-up.  I was worried because it was pouring!!!  I know that our vendors put so much energy into getting ready for a show that I would hate to have a rainy day!  It ended up being a GREAT day...a tad warm but beautiful!  We had such a GREAT time!   Customers seemed really happy with our vendor selection! Here are a few pictures....

It was great to see some of our favorite bloggers at the market...
Thanks for joining us!!!

Sunday I was thrilled to help Holly with her bridal shower she was throwing!  The bride and groom are going to Hawaii for their honeymoon so Holly wanted to go with a tropical theme...how cute!  What a lucky bride and groom!!!

Yes, those are fish in there!!

Wedding at the Rialto

One of my favorite things about my business is when I have the chance to work with a bride and groom that put all of their trust in me.  Ali and Ross were one of the easiest couples to work with!  They were open to my ideas and through the entire planning process seemed to be thrilled with everything!  I was sooo excited for their big day!!!  I couldn't wait to have everything come together!

Centerpieces - Ali requested orange and brown (but was open to my request of adding a hint of green).  We chose twigs for height(not too high which can make conversation difficult), roses, lilies, orchids, and hanging amaranthus.  Everyone loved the orchids blooms that were placed on the branches.

Table Numbers - These were printed on a shimmery paper then I glued a trim of green moss to the edges (yes, this took a LONG time).  They turned out to be soooo cute (so it was absolutely worth it).

The Rialto is such a beautiful place!  Who wouldn't want to get married here!!??

Ali and Ross had their beautiful ceremony on the stage at the Rialto.  It was a challenge to think of a way to draw the eye to the couple since the stage is HUGE!  We covered four pillars in moss...two had elevated floral arrangements and two hosted candles.

The bride and bridal party bouquets were gorgeous...the pictures turned out with a hint of blue because the band had blue lighting...

Sign-in Table

I helped Ali get the jewelry together for the bridesmaids...SOOO cute!!

Each bridesmaid got their set in a cute little box...

The wedding turned out to be perfect!!  Everyone seemed to be having a terrific time...the band was great!  Ali's dress was beautiful and she looked absolutely gorgeous...once I get some pics from her photographer I'll share!!  I really wish Ali and Ross a wonderful life together....

Market

I had such a great time at Kane County Flea Market!  Connie, from Aesthetics in Crystal Lake, and I shared a booth and collaborated on our displays...which turned out great!  I was lucky enough to see some of my really good customers.  I also met sooo many great new customers!!

So cute in their flea market shirts!!!  Thanks for the picture Molly...CUTE!!!

I scanned vintage botanical prints and printed them on vintage sheet music and put them in cute vintage frames...they turned out so sweet!!!

This stool is one of my favorites!  I upholstered it in an old feed sack and added a burlap ruffle!

This is such a cute shopping cart!!  I decorated it with burlap and a lace flower!

I love furniture that has a curve and nice handles this dresser had both!  It had a matching piece...both sold!

In Love...

Today I stopped in my friend Monica's shop, Ruby Begonias, which is only a few doors down from my shop!  I found the CUTEST dress EVER...which I plan on wearing over skinny jeans!  I love it so much because it is my favorite color and it has lace!   As soon as I got home I had to take a picture to share!

Shopping in Morris!

I have had many people ask why I decided to open a shop in Morris, Illinois...well, I have always LOVED shopping in Morris.  It is definitely a hidden gem.  You would be sooo surprised by how many super adorable shops there are!  As if cute shops aren't enough of a reason to make a day trip to Morris I help put on a French Country Market that brings even more unique vendors to town (for more info click on 3 french hens along my sidebar)!

Here are some pics of a few new patriotic items we have in the store...

I am going to be selling at Kane County Flea Market this upcoming week...for the first time! I am also getting ready for the 3 French Hens French Country Markets...See you there!!!

Galena Trip!

My friend Letitia and I went to Galena for a fun and packed day!  We were going for a few reasons...        1. Leti just got engaged...YEAH!!!! We were going to scope out the scene for possible wedding ceremony and reception sites.  2. I am doing florals and decor for a bride who will be getting married at Eagle Ridge in Galena...It is very beautiful there with a great view!  Her wedding is going to be gorgeous!  3. We needed a girls road trip!

Our day started by leaving my house at 6am...the drive is about 4 hours!  We were a tad nervous as we got closer to Galena because of all of the winding roads and steep hills...oh yeah and we thought we were in a horror movie with all of the road kill! GROSS!  But, we made it!

Downtown Galena was very busy!

There are some adorable shops..

I seen this cute empty store front and thought Galena really needs a shop like mine...Whimsy would be perfect here!  One shop keeps me busy for now...maybe one day!

Look what I bought!  She needs a little TLC but she has some GREAT curves!

We did a lot of walking...So much that the next day we both had such sore legs!  Actually, we seen these stairs and said we are so glad we don't need to climb those...then we realized to get to a garden tour we were taking we had to!!! aagghh!

Here is Leti all smiles before the hike up the stairs...she wasn't smiling half way up! HEHE!

We ate lunch at One Eleven Main since we were checking out there event space...we really loved the food, drinks, and the space!

We loved the brick and old wood floors...there are endless possibilities to make this space your own!

As for ceremony sites....We did like the Goldmoor inn, wouldn't this be a great place to exchange vows!?

Galena was so much fun and you can't beat a day trip with pretty views, good shopping, and yummy food!
